December is upon us

Hello Village!  I thought I would keep it brief today, since there is not much to report on this end and Kristi is bogged down with things to catch up on at home.  It's hard to believe that it is already December, being that we were just dressing up for Halloween not that long ago.  Today, my Russian roommates were discharged, so Grace and I have the room to ourselves for the night (unless someone gets sent up here from the Emergency Room).  Grace has been doing pretty good, in the sense that she hasn't needed to return to the ICU.  The past two mornings, before Grace has eaten, she spends about 5-10 minutes dry heaving and trying to vomit, nothing comes out, but she turns red and her heart rate and oxygen saturations both drop and she gets worn out from it and usually tries to fall asleep afterwards.  In addition, we have had to continue to slowly go up on her oxygen the last two days.  Yesterday she was at an eighth of a liter, then she was bumped up to a quarter of a liter, and now she is at half a liter.  Grace's chest X-Ray looked a little more fuzzy today and there hasn't been any changes to her diuretics lately, so hopefully these are all just pieces to the puzzle that the doctors need in order to make the right decision for Grace's treatment.

I was able to enjoy another hot meal today, thanks to our friend in Texas who asked if any of his Boston counterparts at New York Life would be able to bring some food for Thanksgiving, and since someone else came on Thanksgiving, this nice family decided to bring me some lunch today.  I enjoyed some wonderful fried rice and Grace got a new teddy bear!

Prayer Requests:
-For Grace's echo on Tuesday and for the doctors to be able to have a better idea of what direction they need to go for Grace's treatment

-For Abigail, she has spent the last two days crying pretty frequently throughout the day because she misses me and Grace

-For strength, peace, and comfort for Kristi, as she is basically a single mom during this time in our lives

-For me to have an open heart and mind to be used by God when a new roommate arrives

Grace is enjoying the balloons that her Russian roommate gave her before he left

Abigail and Andrew got to have a sleepover in mommy's room last night and when they woke up this morning Abigail said, "Andrew, do you wanna come in my sleeping bag and we can snuggle!"

Thank you for your continued prayers and support!

Praying!

Enjoy your alone time tonight David- that stinks that you have to have roommates, but I am proud that you are willing to share Jesus when the opportunity arises.

Praying for Abby! Love her sweet heart. Tasha ;) is sending something for Abby and Andrew- hopefully it will brighten their day a little bit. :)

Believe me, I know how hard it is to sit for hours on end in the hospital and its TOUGH. And because I was with Gary at a hospital close to home we had frequent visitors and I could sleep in my own bed at night! Your strength is amazing and of course its from the Lord. Isn't it amazing how He gives us what we need each day?

Praying for that echo tomorrow and clarity for the drs. and for your family at home,

Love, Aunt Kathy
