I just wanted to let everyone know that Grace has been nominated for an Oscar for her performance in convincing Dr. Pigula that she needs surgery sooner than Monday. Dr. Pigula walked in early this morning and immediately I thought, "oh great, he always comes when Grace is sleeping and she looks the best she has ever looked." He asked how she was doing, so I was honest and said she was doing better, but that yesterday she gave us a run for our money. He smirked a little and stated that he thinks Grace has demonstrated that she needs to go to the Operating tomorrow morning. Phew!!!!!! Praise God! I smiled reallly big and told him how relieved I was that she is going sooner. After he walked out I turned to Grace and told her good job, but she can take the day off today and just relax now. And so far, Grace has been sleeping or playful today, for the most part.
In regards to surgery, you know the drill, please pray for the best possible outcome for Grace; for God to give Dr. Pigula wisdom in the operating room, especially as it pertains to which valve he uses for the replacement; for Grace to recover well; according to our nurse practitioner today (who worked in the ICU for 13 years), the recovery process can be pretty hectic for these valve replacements and a lot of times the patients might need to go on the ECMO machine afterwards (I'm not sure exactly what ECMO is, but it has something to do with respiratory assistance), so please pray that Grace will not need to go on this, but if so, that she is able to come off of it quickly; and, lastly, please pray for God's will to be done and that no matter what we trust Him completely and know that He is in control. Thank you so much for continuing to pray for our little actress!
I told you yesterday about the Christmas package I received yesterday, so today I have been busy getting Grace's crib ready for Christmas. There's is nothing more manly than sitting in a semi-dark room doing arts and crafts by yourself. The nurses would occasionally walk by and heckle me, quoting lines from the movie Elf at me, saying, "Six inch bows!" Laugh all they want, Grace by far has the most festive crib in the hospital.
Thanks for your prayers everyone! Kristi might be posting something later, but we wanted to update everyone with the surgery date so you could begin praying, please!

Yay for an earlier surgery date! And I'm proud of you for your sweet decorating skills David! You definitely should win the best daddy award in the world this year! Way to be crafty! We will be praying tomorrow for Dr. Pigula and the valve. :)
Wow, you also get the Martha Stewart award for crib decorating! Do you have a way to play some Christmas music too?
I have many people here praying for success tomorrow; Grace is one tough cookie (besides being a great actress!
